Start Talking Alabama is a Social Media and Community-Focused Program of the HIV/AIDS Prevention & Care Division of the Alabama Department of Public Health. Celebrating its 5th Year Anniversary, Start Talking Alabama seeks to increase HIV Awareness and Decrease Stigma by sharing prevention, testing, and treatment information. Prevention efforts focus on key communities to included Men Who Have Sex with Men, Women, People of Trans Experience, and People with Drug Use History. Start Talking Alabama is a multi-layered program which provides digital content on Social Media Outlets, through its Start Talking Alabama App (available in both the Apple & Google Play Stores), and through its website at www.starttalkingalabama.org. Start Talking Alabama provides its followers with a way to interact with professionals and peers for linkage to care, testing information, and networking support.
